Strong winds and snow squalls caused multiple disruptions along Highway 401 in eastern Ontario on Tuesday morning, leading to several temporary closures.

A jackknifed tractor-trailer shut down westbound lanes between Reynolds Road and Highway 2 in Leeds and Grenville for about five hours, with the roadway reopening around 11:45 a.m. Additional crashes west of Kingston, including incidents involving transport trucks, forced further closures between Kingston and Napanee, as well as an earlier shutdown near Brockville.

Just before 1 p.m., all westbound lanes had reopened across the affected areas, including Gananoque, Kingston, and Napanee. While several collisions were reported, no serious injuries occurred.
