A series of crashes on Highway 401 in Milton caused major disruptions Friday morning after a significant oil spill forced lane closures.
The incidents occurred around 7:45 a.m. near Regional Road 25, leading police to restrict westbound traffic to a single lane while crews handled cleanup and conducted an investigation.
The spill spread across part of the roadway, requiring extensive work before conditions were safe. All lanes were reopened shortly before noon, though tow trucks and maintenance teams continued working at the scene.
No injuries have been reported.
