A residential fire in Chatham has caused an estimated $200,000 in damage.
Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue responded around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday to a raised ranch home near West Street and Lorne Avenue.
Crews from Stations 1 and 2 arrived within minutes and encountered flames at the rear of the single-family house, with the fire spreading into the attic. Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack and conducted searches of the residence before bringing the blaze under control.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
