A two-alarm fire broke out Sunday morning at a business under construction on Danforth Avenue in Scarborough. Fire crews arrived shortly after 8:30 a.m. to find heavy smoke coming from the former kickboxing gym at 3246 Danforth Avenue. The main flames have since been extinguished, and no injuries have been reported. Firefighters are still on scene.
The TTC temporarily rerouted the 113 Danforth bus via Pharmacy, Denton, and Byng because of the incident. Local road closures have now been lifted. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
