A Grand River Transit bus veered off the road and crashed into a house in Cambridge on Wednesday evening.

According to Waterloo Regional Police Service, officers were called to the scene around 7:15 p.m. following reports that a bus had struck a residence on Franklin Boulevard near Edward Street. Investigators say the driver lost control, with poor weather and icy road conditions contributing to the incident.

Two passengers were on board at the time, but no injuries were reported. Police have not indicated whether any charges will be laid.

By Thursday afternoon, the bus had been removed from the property and the affected stretch of Franklin Boulevard was reopened to traffic.
