Fire crews responded to a residential fire on Craigleith Drive in Waterloo on Saturday afternoon, with no injuries reported.
Four fire trucks were dispatched to the scene. Around 12:30 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police announced on social media that Craigleith Drive had been closed between Faraday Court and Old Post Crossing, noting the road closure could remain in place for several hours.
By about 1:30 p.m., firefighters had extinguished the flames, but crews stayed at the home to clear out significant smoke that remained inside the building.
Authorities say the cause of the fire is still under investigation, and officials have not yet provided an estimate of the damage.
