A driver has been charged with impaired driving after a pickup truck crashed into a grocery store on Colborne Street in Brantford on Saturday afternoon.
The Brantford Police Service said officers responded shortly after 2 p.m. to reports that a vehicle had struck a No Frills location. When police arrived, they found the truck partially lodged in the building after breaking through an exterior wall, causing extensive damage inside and outside the store.
After investigating, officers arrested the driver and laid charges of impaired operation by alcohol and drugs, as well as operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded.
No injuries were reported. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Brantford Police Service.
