Fire crews responded to an explosion and fire on a 17th-floor apartment balcony in Cabbagetown on Wednesday morning, possibly linked to an e-bike battery.
Emergency services were called to the Carlton Street and Sherbourne Street area around 9 a.m. Toronto Fire confirmed that an e-bike battery was involved, though it remains unclear whether it caused the blaze.
No injuries were reported, but the apartment’s occupants were evacuated, and the unit sustained damage from the fire.
