Firefighters in Windsor spent several hours tackling a house fire near Ojibway Park early Tuesday morning.
Windsor Fire and Rescue Services responded just before midnight and encountered heavy fire conditions at a home on Broadway Street near Ojibway Parkway. Fire officials confirmed the residents were not in the house at the time, and no injuries were reported.
About 25 firefighters were deployed to the scene, remaining there for roughly five hours as they worked to bring the blaze under control. The fire caused an estimated $400,000 in damage, and the structure has been deemed unsafe to enter.
Because the fire occurred overnight, crews were unable to immediately determine the cause. An investigation is expected to follow.
