An overnight fire at a Mississauga home is under investigation as a suspected arson.

Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services were called to a detached bungalow on Watersedge Road, near Lake Ontario and east of Southdown Road, at 11:44 p.m. Monday. Fire crews arrived to find the garage fully engulfed, with two electric vehicles inside. The fire spread to the house, causing an estimated $2 million in damage and leaving the home likely beyond repair.

No injuries were reported. Fire operations wrapped up around 4 a.m., but crews and police remained on site into the morning to secure the scene for the Fire Marshal.

Peel Regional Police confirmed the blaze is being treated as a possible arson.
