Streetcar service on a section of King Street in downtown Toronto has resumed after a truck struck a bridge in Liberty Village on Wednesday morning, damaging overhead transit wires.
The collision happened near King Street West and Atlantic Avenue at about 8:20 a.m., forcing 504A and 504B streetcars to detour eastbound through Dufferin Street, Queen Street West, and Shaw Street while repairs were completed. There were no injuries reported.
Regular service was restored around 4 p.m. Transit officials said the bridge does not appear to have sustained structural damage. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
