Emergency responders were called to a single-vehicle crash involving a well drilling truck on Monck Road in Ramara Township just before 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials say the truck’s extended drilling boom struck overhead high-voltage power lines, snapping a hydro pole and bringing live wires down across the roadway. The incident created a dangerous situation and led to the closure of Monck Road between County Road 169 and Smith Side Road.

No injuries were reported. Hydro One crews attended to assess the damage and complete repairs, and the road was reopened to traffic shortly after 4 p.m.
