A man from Niagara Falls is facing multiple charges after allegedly crashing a vehicle into a home in Welland and fleeing the scene.
Police say officers responded to a residence near East Main Street and Golden Boulevard West around 9:15 p.m. Sunday after a black 2015 Jeep Compass crashed through the front of a single-storey house.
The driver ran from the scene but was located and arrested a short distance away.
Ashdon Wooldridge has been charged with impaired operation, dangerous operation, driving while prohibited, and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
Authorities said the home was occupied at the time of the crash, but no injuries were reported. The vehicle remains stuck in the house while officials wait for a structural engineer to assess the damage.
