A fire that broke out at Kitchener Market early Sunday morning is not considered suspicious, according to city officials.
Emergency crews responded to the market at 300 King Street East shortly after 1 a.m. The fire is believed to have started at a vendor’s stall, although the exact cause remains unknown.
No injuries were reported, and officials said there is no evidence of foul play, meaning no further investigation will be conducted.
The fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damage, but the city confirmed the building remains structurally sound. Cleanup efforts are continuing.
