A large early morning fire at an industrial site in Etobicoke prompted a major response from Toronto Fire Services.
Crews were called around 5 a.m. to a building on Shorncliffe Road, where a waste facility for construction materials caught fire. More than a dozen trucks, multiple aerial units, and roughly 80 firefighters were deployed to battle the three-alarm blaze.
Fire officials reported the situation was under control by shortly before 8 a.m., with the flames contained to the building. Some crews began scaling back operations, though aerial equipment remained in use. An excavator inside the facility was also involved in the fire.
No injuries were reported, and the cause remains under investigation.
