A house fire in Severn Township on Sunday night left a single-family home completely destroyed, though no injuries were reported.
Emergency crews were called to Brennan Line shortly after 8 p.m., where firefighters arrived to find the structure fully engulfed. More than 30 firefighters from Severn responded, with additional support from Ramara crews, along with police, paramedics, and Hydro One.
Firefighters relied on a tanker shuttle system to supply water while battling the flames. They successfully prevented the fire from spreading to a nearby building, which suffered only minor exterior damage. The residents were able to evacuate safely and rescued two cats from the home.
Most crews left the scene early Monday morning, while a smaller team stayed behind to monitor remaining hotspots. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but is not believed to be suspicious. The home has been declared a total loss, and damage costs have yet to be assessed.
