Fire crews in Windsor responded to a blaze in the city’s east end on Thursday afternoon, where heavy smoke was seen rising from the area.

Emergency services were called to the 6700 block of Tecumseh Road at around 4:37 p.m. and quickly brought the fire under control. According to Windsor Fire Chief Jamie Waffle, crews managed to contain the flames to the roof, preventing further spread to the interior or nearby buildings.

By early evening, firefighters were still working to extinguish remaining hotspots. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage have not yet been determined.
