A 38-year-old man is facing a careless driving charge after a vehicle crashed into a hydro pole in North York early Sunday.

The collision happened shortly before 5:30 a.m. in the Armour Heights area near Bathurst Street and Laurelcrest Avenue, bringing emergency crews to the scene.

The impact caused a power transformer to fall onto the roadway, where it came into contact with a TTC bus. No injuries were reported, but the crash resulted in a power outage in the surrounding area.

Police have charged the driver with careless driving.
