Windsor firefighters battled a significant blaze at an industrial property Tuesday evening, prompting a large emergency response.

Crews were dispatched around 6 p.m. to the 3900 block of North Service Road East, near the E.C. Row Expressway and Central Avenue. Fire officials confirmed the incident occurred at a concrete-related facility, where responders encountered intense fire conditions, including a vehicle burning near the building.

Between eight and ten fire units were deployed to contain the flames. While the fire was brought under control, some firefighters remained on site to deal with lingering hot spots that could reignite, particularly in hard-to-access areas such as walls, ceilings, or roof spaces.

No injuries were reported, and investigators are still working to determine what caused the fire. Thick smoke was visible from the expressway as crews worked to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby hazards, including a diesel tank.

Fire officials noted that industrial sites pose additional challenges due to the possible presence of fuel sources, chemicals, or pressurized tanks, requiring extra caution during firefighting operations.
