Several residents were forced from their homes after a fire broke out in a three-storey residential building in Timmins Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the intersection of Bruce Avenue and Crawford Street at about 3:46 p.m. on Aug. 18. Crews from three stations responded after arriving officers reported heavy black smoke coming from the building.
Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control before checking the building for remaining hot spots and clearing smoke from the structure.
All tenants were evacuated, and no injuries were reported. Some residents were unable to return home and received support from the Canadian Red Cross.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established. Timmins Fire Prevention officials are continuing their investigation.
