A commercial building fire in downtown Toronto prompted several road closures Thursday evening after emergency crews responded to a blaze on Richmond Street West.
Toronto Fire Services were called to 304 Richmond Street West shortly before 6:30 p.m. Crews encountered heavy flames and thick smoke, with the fire believed to have started on the building’s roof.
Firefighters have since brought the blaze under control, and no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Police remain at the scene while crews continue their work, resulting in several traffic restrictions in the area.
