A morning house fire in Kitchener caused extensive damage to a detached home and forced its occupants from the property Sunday.
Kitchener Fire crews responded to a home on Village Road around 8 a.m. after receiving reports of a structure fire. Firefighters found flames had spread into the attic before bringing the blaze under control.
While no injuries were reported, the damage is estimated at between $500,000 and $750,000.
The blaze is not being treated as suspicious at this time, as police continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
