No injuries were reported after a tent fire and explosion near a downtown Ottawa dog park and community garden Wednesday night.
Ottawa Fire Services responded around 8:30 p.m. to a fire near Tech Wall Dog Park and the community garden at Bronson and Laurier avenues. Witness video showed large flames and heavy black smoke rising from the area.
Fire officials said the fire involved a tent and that several small butane canisters inside caused the explosions. Crews quickly extinguished the blaze after arriving, and no one was found at the scene or inside the tent.
The circumstances surrounding the fire remain under review.
