A late-morning fire in central London has forced five people out of their home.
London Fire Department crews were called to the 100 block of Wellington Street around 11 a.m., where they encountered thick smoke coming from a second-floor bedroom. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze, but the damage is estimated at about $100,000.
The displaced residents are receiving assistance from the Canadian Red Cross. Officials say the property has since been returned to the owner, while the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
