Two separate collisions involving transport trucks forced the closure of the eastbound lanes of Highway 403 near Brantford on Friday morning, according to Ontario Provincial Police.

The crashes occurred around 6:30 a.m. between Middle Townline Road and Rest Acres Road. Police say cleanup efforts were ongoing late in the morning as crews worked to contain a diesel spill estimated between 300 and 600 litres. Heavy tow trucks were also brought in to remove the damaged transport vehicles.

Despite the incidents, no serious injuries were reported. One driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries, while the other was able to leave the scene without medical treatment.

Authorities warned motorists that the eastbound lanes of the highway could remain closed for several hours while cleanup and recovery operations continue.
