Mississauga firefighters responded to two separate residential fires on Monday evening, with no serious injuries reported in either incident.
The first fire broke out around 5:15 p.m. in a garage on 10th Line West in Churchill Meadows. One person suffered minor smoke inhalation after attempting to put out the flames and was treated at the scene. Officials said the fire was contained to the garage, where a resident had been working on a lawn mower before the blaze started. The exact cause remains under investigation.
About an hour later, crews were called to an apartment building on Glen Erin Drive in Meadowvale after a fire erupted on a third-floor balcony. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze using an exterior attack, preventing it from spreading beyond the balcony. No injuries were reported, and the cause has not yet been determined.
