A vehicle fire temporarily disrupted traffic on Highway 11 southbound near Agnew Road in Severn Township on Wednesday afternoon.
Severn Fire crews responded to the scene around 2 p.m., where they found a small Volkswagen sedan fully engulfed in flames. Four fire trucks and nine firefighters attended the incident.
The driver was able to safely pull over before the fire spread. Firefighters briefly closed the highway while extinguishing the blaze, but the roadway was reopened shortly after.
Officials say the fire originated in the engine compartment, though the exact cause has not yet been determined. No injuries were reported.
