A small electrical fire prompted evacuations in the heart of London late at night, though no injuries were reported.

Firefighters were dispatched around 11:45 p.m. to the area of Dundas and Richmond streets. The London Fire Department said crews quickly brought the situation under control.

Investigators determined the blaze began in a power bar positioned beneath a desk. While the flames were contained swiftly, smoke spread throughout the structure, leading to the evacuation of neighbouring businesses and all three storeys of the building.

Officials estimate the damage at roughly $150,000.
