Ontario Provincial Police continue to search for a suspect after a vehicle involved in a Highway 401 collision crashed into a residential property in Ingersoll on Sunday morning.
Police were initially called to a collision on Highway 401 near Foldens Line shortly before 8 a.m. One of the vehicles allegedly fled the scene and was later found after crashing into a home near Charles Street West and Thames Street North in Ingersoll.
Witnesses reported hearing a loud impact before seeing occupants flee on foot. Security camera footage from nearby residents captured one individual running from the scene. Police quickly located and apprehended a woman believed to have been involved, but a second suspect remains outstanding.
The wanted individual is described as a Black man with a thin build, wearing a white T-shirt and dark jogging pants. Police noted he was not wearing shoes at the time he was last seen.
A large police response followed the crash, including the deployment of a helicopter, drone units, and members of the Emergency Response Team. Investigators searched the area for several hours and collected evidence before clearing the scene later in the afternoon.
No injuries have been reported in connection with either the Highway 401 collision or the crash into the residence. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue efforts to locate the outstanding suspect.
