A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in North York on Thursday evening.

Toronto police responded to a collision near Bartley Drive and Pinebrook Avenue shortly before 8:30 p.m. Investigators say a 75-year-old man driving a grey Volvo was travelling west on Bartley Drive when he struck a 78-year-old man who was crossing the street.

The injured pedestrian was taken to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. The driver stayed at the scene following the incident.

Police are appealing to anyone in the area, including residents, drivers, and businesses, to provide any security or dashcam footage that may help with the investigation.
