Randy Jones from Manitoulin Island broke down in court as he pled guilty to charges stemming from a deadly crash in downtown London.

On September 10, 2025, Jones, 44, was driving a black Chevy Silverado with friends as passengers despite having a suspended license. London police noticed the vehicle and pursued it after it ran multiple red lights, reaching speeds close to 100 km/h. The pickup ultimately collided with a Volkswagen SUV at William Street and Queens Avenue.

The crash killed 67-year-old retired school principal Catherine Sallows and seriously injured her 70-year-old husband, Donald. Video evidence showed much of the incident, including Jones fleeing the scene and leaving both victims and his injured passengers behind. He was arrested a week later in Thunder Bay.

Originally facing 11 charges, Jones pled guilty to dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm. He remains in custody ahead of his sentencing hearing on June 17.
