A late-night house fire in Windsor caused more than $750,000 in damage and displaced four residents.

Windsor Fire and Rescue crews responded to a home in the 1500 block of Labadie Road, near Seminole Street, at approximately 11 p.m. Thursday. The blaze heavily damaged the primary residence, resulting in an estimated $500,000 in losses, while a neighbouring home sustained about $250,000 in exposure damage.

Investigators determined the fire originated outside at the rear of the home. However, the exact cause remains undetermined, as both smoking materials and a propane heater were found in the area where the fire started.

Four people from the affected homes have been displaced as officials continue their investigation.
