A head-on collision on Highway 21 near Army Camp Road in Lambton County early Thursday morning left one person with life-threatening injuries and another seriously hurt. The crash occurred around 6 a.m. when a vehicle attempted to pass a transport truck in heavy fog and struck an oncoming car.

The driver who attempted the pass sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the other driver was critically injured. Emergency services responded quickly, and the Ontario Provincial Police closed Highway 21 between Army Camp Road and Port Franks Road for several hours to investigate. The road has since reopened.

Police emphasized the crash was avoidable, urging drivers to exercise patience in poor weather conditions and avoid risky maneuvers, especially in fog.
