A firefighter suffered a minor arm injury while battling an early morning house fire in Angus on Monday.
Crews were called to a property on Browns Line around 6:40 a.m. after a blaze, believed to have originated from a pellet stove in the basement, spread from the garage to the attic and roof. All occupants of the small home were able to get out safely, and no other injuries were reported.
Due to the lack of nearby hydrants, additional support was brought in, including water tankers, with about 10 emergency vehicles responding to the scene. The fire also caused damage to a nearby storage structure on the property.
