Police are investigating a serious two-vehicle collision in Kawartha Lakes that sent one person to a Toronto trauma centre.
Emergency crews were called just after 10 a.m. Wednesday to Highway 7A near Janetville Road and Yelverton Road. According to provincial police, one driver was found in critical medical condition and was airlifted by Ornge to hospital in Toronto.
A passenger from the same vehicle was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt.
Highway 7A remains closed between Janetville Road and Yelverton Road as officers continue to examine the scene. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam or video footage to contact the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
