Emergency responders were dispatched to a snowmobile crash in Severn Township on Wednesday evening.
According to Severn Fire and Emergency Services, crews were called to the area of Carlyon Line and Division Road at about 7:40 p.m. Initial information suggested the snowmobile had collided with a truck, but responders later determined the machine struck a steel gate along a designated snowmobile trail.
Ontario Provincial Police, along with two ambulances from Simcoe County Paramedic Services, attended the scene. Firefighters helped manage traffic and secure both the roadway and the trail during the response.
One individual was taken to hospital by ground ambulance and was later transported by ORNGE air ambulance to Toronto as a precaution. The severity of the injuries has not been disclosed.
Police say the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
