An elderly man was rescued following a residential fire in Toronto’s Davisville Village on Saturday morning.
Toronto police and fire crews were called to a detached two-storey home on Millwood Road shortly before 10 a.m. Fire officials say the blaze was largely contained to the attic.
No one was inside the residence when crews arrived, but one resident was found outside and later assessed by paramedics. Several neighbouring homes were also evacuated as a precaution.
Firefighters remained at the property carrying out post-fire operations and clearing equipment from the area. Millwood Road was closed between Forman Avenue and Belle Ayre Boulevard.
The circumstances that led to the fire have not yet been established, and its cause remains under investigation.
