A fatal two-vehicle crash in Oxford County on Tuesday has left one person dead and another in critical condition. The collision occurred around 9 a.m. at Road 84 and 31st Line in Zorra Township, involving an SUV and a delivery truck. The SUV was sent into a ditch and flipped onto its roof, while the delivery truck came to rest near the opposite ditch.
According to OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk, one SUV occupant died at the scene, while a second was airlifted to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. The delivery truck driver sustained minor injuries and is being treated.
An OPP collision reconstruction team is investigating the crash, which happened just 10 km from the site of a May 23 crash that killed four teens and their coach. Sgt. Sanchuk urged drivers to prioritize road safety, emphasizing the importance of staying focused behind the wheel.
Police are asking witnesses or anyone with dash cam or surveillance footage from the area to contact them.
