A person was taken to hospital after a fire broke out in a Barrie townhouse on Donald Street Wednesday.
Fire crews arrived quickly and contained the blaze to a single unit. According to Barrie Fire Chief Kevin White, the fire started accidentally in the kitchen.
The home sustained significant damage, though an exact estimate has not been determined. The Ontario Fire Marshal was notified due to the injury, but is not expected to investigate on-site.
The resident who was hospitalized is expected to be released soon.
