A frightening incident unfolded Monday afternoon in LaSalle when a vehicle crashed through the front window of the Zehrs store and entered the building. Despite the damage, the store stayed open to customers.
The crash happened around 2:30 p.m., and Essex-Windsor EMS responded, taking one person to hospital with injuries that have not been disclosed.
LaSalle police are actively investigating the cause and details of the collision.
Update – The injured person is identified to be a 42-year-old man from Windsor. Police have charged the driver, a 73-year-old woman from LaSalle, with careless driving causing bodily harm.
