Ontario Provincial Police are reminding motorists to drive carefully after a crash on Highway 17 near Bruce Mines left a pickup truck driver injured.
The collision occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 18 and involved two vehicles travelling westbound. Police say a 67-year-old man from La Patrie attempted to pass a tractor-trailer but struck the front of the larger vehicle while completing the maneuver.
The impact caused the pickup to spin out, roll over and land upside down in the northbound ditch. Emergency crews transported the driver to hospital in Sault Ste. Marie for treatment.
Following the investigation, the driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with making an unsafe attempt to pass.
