One person was hospitalized after a balcony fire broke out at a high-rise near Billings Bridge in Ottawa on Wednesday night.
Ottawa Fire Services responded to a building on Clementine Boulevard at approximately 10:35 p.m. after receiving reports of a fire on a balcony. Crews brought the blaze under control roughly 20 minutes later.
Paramedics assessed three people at the scene. Two were treated and released, while the third was transported to hospital in serious but stable condition.
Residents were permitted to return to the building after the situation was brought under control.
An investigator with Ottawa Fire Services is now working to establish what caused the fire.
