An individual was hospitalized following a Friday evening apartment fire in Parkdale.
According to Toronto Fire Services, crews responded around 8:45 p.m. to a residential building near Jameson Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard West. Firefighters discovered flames inside a sixth-floor unit and located one occupant during their search.
Toronto Paramedic Services reported that the person was taken to hospital with serious injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Officials confirmed the blaze has been brought under control. The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
