A resident was treated for smoke inhalation after an e-bike battery caught fire inside an apartment building in north London on Monday morning.
London Fire Department crews responded to a three-storey apartment building on Huron Street, east of Adelaide Street, shortly after 8 a.m. after reports of smoke coming from an upper-floor unit.
According to witnesses, the occupant removed the overheating battery from the apartment and placed it on a balcony using a pot to safely transport it.
Paramedics assessed and treated the individual at the scene, and no other injuries were reported.
The extent of damage to the apartment unit has not been released.
