A fatal crash near the Nipigon River Bridge has claimed the life of a 37-year-old Ottawa resident.
Ontario Provincial Police responded to the collision around 8:45 p.m. on April 23 along Highway 11-17 in the Township of Nipigon. The crash involved an SUV and a transport truck.
The SUV driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other occupants in the vehicle were injured and taken to hospital, though no additional injuries were reported.
The highways in the area, including Highway 11 and Highway 17, were closed for several hours as investigators examined the scene with the assistance of collision reconstruction teams. All routes have since reopened.
Police say no charges are expected. Anyone with information or video footage is being asked to contact the OPP.
