An Ottawa driver is facing multiple charges, including having an insecure load, after a tile flew off his truck and hit a police cruiser in Ottawa’s west end.
Ontario Provincial Police officers had tried to pull over a vehicle with a trailer on Highway 417 near Moodie Drive due to concerns about the load’s security. As the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, a tile came loose from the trailer, striking the police cruiser and causing minor damage.
The driver faces charges for an insecure load, using unauthorized license plates, failing to provide a permit for the vehicle and trailer, and the plates were seized.
