A 19-year-old woman is in critical condition after a vehicle crashed into a hydro pole in Gravenhurst early Monday morning.
Orillia OPP officers were called to the single-vehicle collision on Southwood Road at around 2:30 a.m. Police say the woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, suffered life-threatening injuries. She was airlifted by Ornge to a Toronto-area trauma centre for treatment.
The 20-year-old male driver sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening and was taken to a local hospital.
Southwood Road was closed between Canning Road and Sparrow Lake Route D Road while crews work to repair the damaged hydro pole.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation.
