A fatal crash near Hagersville on Tuesday morning has left one person dead and another injured. The collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 3 and Haldimand Road 20 and involved a van and a transport truck.
Ontario Provincial Police closed the area between Haldimand Road 53 and Dry Lake Road around 10:41 a.m. for the investigation.
According to OPP Const. Patti Cote, the passenger in the van died at the scene, while the driver was taken to hospital with injuries that have not yet been fully assessed.
Police expected the road closures to remain in place for several hours as the investigation continues.
Update – The van passenger is identified to be a 95-year-old from Lowbanks.
