A 65-year-old man has died after being seriously injured in a collision involving a wheelchair accessible taxi in Ajax on Monday afternoon.
Durham police responded to the crash around 4:35 p.m. near Bayly Street East and Clayton Road, just east of Salem Road.
The man was a passenger in the accessible taxi and was taken to a Toronto-area hospital with serious injuries. Police later confirmed he died in hospital from injuries sustained in the collision.
Members of the Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene as officers worked to determine what led to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
