A woman sustained serious injuries in a collision in Orillia on Friday evening. The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. at the intersection of King and Matchendash Streets, where Ontario Provincial Police responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck.

Upon arrival, officers found the woman with serious, though not life-threatening, injuries. The driver of the vehicle was unharmed. The 47-year-old woman was airlifted to a trauma center in the Toronto area for treatment.

The area was closed for several hours as cleanup and investigations took place. The investigation is ongoing, and the OPP is asking anyone with information or video footage of the incident to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
